Latest News Little Brampton Riesling wins medal at Clare Wine ShowLittle Brampton Wines has added another medal to its collection, this time for the recently released 2010 Little Brampton Flagpole Riesling. Awarded a Bronze medal at the 2010 Clare valley Regional Wine Show, proprietor Alan Schwarz said he was thrilled to get the award in such a strong Riesling class. This comes on top of gaining a coveted 3-stars in the Winestate Riesling tasting and one of less than a dozen Rieslings recommended from the Winestate tasting. Little Brampton Riesling, made by master Riesling winemaker, Neil Paulett, has been a consistent medal winner. The 2008 Riesling was given 96 points by James Halliday and was listed as one of the best Clare Rieslings that year. The Little Brampton vineyard is nestled on a west-facing slope in the Polish Hill region of the Clare Valley, at 520m above sea level, one of the highest vineyards in the Clare Region. The altitude gives our fruit an extended ripening period, the cool nights building great fruit intensity. This comes through in the finished wines, which are made only from free-run juice. Little Brampton are celebrating their latest medal win by marketing an Aged-Release Little Brampton 2005 Riesling. Showing soft, rounded characters, the aged Riesling has great fruit and perfect acid balance. Great for drinking now, and suitable for cellaring until 2020. Available in 6 bottle packs, or in a mixed dozen – check out our order form. James Halliday gives 5 star rating to Little Brampton Wines in 2007 Australian Wine Companion!
